The Grizzlies were determined to get back to the postseason and chase a championship. Fuel by a young core led by rising All-Star Ja Morant. Who has played three seasons for the Grizzlies? In this time, he has averaged 21.2 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in 187 regular-season games.

He has won the Rookie of the Year award and led the Grizzlies to their second playoff appearance since his arrival.

Morant and Grizzlies now look ahead at the BIGGER task at hand, Getting out of the first round.

The Grizzlies are going up against a hungry Minnesota Timberwolves team that they had sparks with in the past. Both teams are young with limited playoff experience. The last time the Wolves made the playoffs was in 2018 when Minnesota lost to the Houston Rockets in the first round.

The Timberwolves look much different now. The Wolves shipped out Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat and offloaded Andrew Wiggins to the Golden State Warriors.

Minnesota's core now relies on All-Star Center Karl Anthony Towns, guard D'Angelo Russell, and sophomore guard Anthony Edwards, Three emerging stars in the league who can go out and take over a game on any given night.

Russell and Edwards demonstrated resilience in carrying the Wolves past the Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in tournament.

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies have been waiting patiently for this moment after, finishing the season 56-26 as the number two seed in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies feel confident that they can knock off the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to the ESPN power index, the Memphis Grizzlies are' favored by 73.4% to defeat the Timberwolves.
