Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos kick off training camp 2022

The Denver Broncos officially kicked off their 2022 training camp Tuesday, July 26, 2022. The Broncos won seven games last season with Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock at the Quarterback position.

However, this year there is a new sheriff in town that goes by the name of Danger Russell Wilson. The 11-year NFL veteran spent his career in Settle, broke numerous Seahawk single-season passing records in 2015, was named nine PRO BOWLS, and led the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances. Winning Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos have always been known for their elite defense, best known as NO FLY ZONE. However, Denver has been searching for someone to take over the quarterback position for the past five seasons.

Since Peyton Manning retired in 2016 after winning Super Bowl 50, the Broncos have had zero success at the quarterback position. Fast Forward to 2022. Wilson now calls Denver home and looks to bring a Championship back to Broncos County.

Why Denver, you ask? The Broncos were the perfect situation for Wilson. First off, because of the young roster, thriving receivers, and a stellar defense. Not to mention a Head Coach in Nathaniel Hackett, who has had much success with Aaron Rodgers and is determined to get the Broncos back to the Superbowl.

So far in training camp, the Broncos focused on special teams and individual drills, but all eyes have been on newly acquired QB Russell Wilson. Who looked suitable for the most part. With only two weeks to get into competition mode before the Preseason. The Broncos camp includes two daily practices, scrimmages, weight training sessions, and coaching meetings.

Fans and coaches were in awe of how good Wilson looked, from dropping dimes to making plays and displaying his football IQ. The 11-year veteran is a born leader on and off the field. So it's safe to say the Broncos have found their QB to command the next ERA in Denver.

The Denver Broncos drafted WR Montrell Washington in the fifth round with the 162nd overall pick. Head Coach Hackett praised Washington for his performance at training camp so far. The Rookie displayed his hard work and willingness to want to get better all around.

If he can keep this up, Washington could earn himself some valuable playing time down the line. The NFL is different from college; longer season, better talent all around, and the game's complexities can be exhausting.

Returning Veteran TE Eric Saubert has been an upgrade so far, looming as the backup tight end. Playing the TE position is one of the most challenging roles in the NFL.

From playing offensive linemen to wide receiver, Saubert will be required to catch the ball and block big, strong, fast defensive ends and linebackers.

As of right now, the Denver Broncos projected starting tight end to start the 2022 season is Albert Okwuegbunam

PS2 is determined to have another breakout season after finishing last season with 49 solo tackles and four interceptions while starting 15-of-16 games during his rookie season.

Surtain picked up where he left off last season, shutting down the Bronco's primary WR Courtland Sutton in a third down situational drill Thursday, July 28.

The Broncos expect PS2 to be a pivotal piece to their defense going forward.

However, the 2nd year CB will not be alone in NO FLY ZONE as Safety Justin Simmons returns as arguably one of the best players on the Denver Broncos' current Roster.

Since his time in Denver, Simmons has built a reputation in being able to cover sideline to sideline, match up in man-to-man coverage and be a leader on and off the field. The kind of player you want leading your young guys into battle.

The Denver Broncos drafted WR Jerry Jeudy in hopes that he would grow into an impact player. Since being drafted, Jeudy has scored three touchdowns and had two 100-yard receiving games. At the same time, he secured the second-most receptions (52) and receiving yards (856) ever by a Broncos rookie.

Jeudy started last season great but ultimately missed six games after suffering a severe ankle injury. Oct 30, 2021, vs. the New York Giants.

Now with a game changer and the QB position who can throw accurate passes down the field. Jeudy will be able to open up his game; with his ability to run elite passing routes and with Wilson's ability to extend plays, there is no limit to what his duo can do together.
