Fast forward to the 2021-22 regular season. The Jazz finished with a record of 49-33 the 5th seed in the Western Conference. The duo has played five seasons together, and the Jazz have yet to advance past the second round.

The future of the Utah Jazz is up in the air. Should the Jazz trade Donovan Mitchell or Rudy Gobert?

Rudy Gobert on the Jazz trade rumors, Him or me!

Sources say Rudy Gobert will ask the Utah Jazz to trade him or Donovan Mitchell in the near future.

Rudy feels that his numbers are consistent and getting better, while Mitchell is a defensive liability and is falling off in terms of explosiveness. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year is all in on the Jazz, doesn’t want to play anywhere else and would like to retire in a Jazz uniform. Although, there are multiple teams interested in trading for him if he's made available.

Teams interested in Rudy Gobert are the Charlotte Hornets, the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors.

Donovan Mitchell on his future with the Jazz, "I'll think about it in a week and go from there, but right now, I'm not really thinking about any of that,"

Talk around the league is the Jazz are locked in on Donovan Mitchell. Expect Utah to set up a trade package that does not include Mitchell in an attempt to make him more comfortable. Mitchell is a three-time All-Star with three years remaining on his contract with Utah.

Mitchell and Gobert are both still in their prime, and could be the franchise player of a team.

The Utah Jazz have had success in the regular season but not much in the postseason, losing in the first round for the third time in the last four years. The star duo has yet to break into the Western Conference Finals, with criticism starting to build, Mitchell could force a trade this offseason, leaving the JAZZ to build around Rudy Gobert.

One way or another, THE STAR DUO IN UTAH IS OVER !!!!!!
