Auburn native DeMarcus Ware began his football career at Auburn High School where he played both linebacker and wide receiver. An early indication of his potential, as a senior Ware led his high school team to an undefeated record including being awarded most valuable wide receiver and linebacker.
"Troy University"
After his senior season, Ware accepted a scholarship to Troy University. During his time there, he became a two-time All-Sun Belt defensive lineman and the 2004 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year. Ware finished his collegiate days with 201 tackles, 27.5 sacks, 55.5 tackles for loss and 74 quarterback rushes.

Austin will now officially be DeMarcus Ware Day at Veterans Memorial Stadium in honor of Ware's Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.

"Ware to Cowboys"
Following his playing career at Troy University, DeMarcus Ware was drafted to the Dallas Cowboys with the 11th overall selection in the 2005 NFL draft. Ware would spend nine years of his professional career with the Dallas Cowboys. His performance there led him to be known as an exceptional pass rusher and a cornerstone of their defensive unit.

"In 2013, DeMarcus Ware was the franchise's all-time leader in quarterback sacks with 117."
Despite his notable career in Dallas, he left the Cowboys franchise after almost a decade with the organization. Despite the fact that he had no Superbowl ring to show for it.
However, he was eager to start the next chapter in his career and continue to prove his worth in the NFL. This was after battling multiple injuries and surgeries along the way.
Broncos County
With father time introducing its own set of problems to Ware's career. He found a home in Denver where he reinvented himself and mentored younger players such as LB Von Miller on how to play the game the right way.

Ware's dream of winning a Superbowl finally came true after three long seasons at Mile High. In 2015, the Denver Broncos advanced to Super Bowl 50 defeating the Carolina Panthers 24-10. Ware played a huge role in that championship team, from being a key leader on the field to his veteran presence in the locker room.
"Retirement"
His commitment and dedication finally paid off with an NFL Super Bowl Championship. Following 12 seasons in the National Football League. Ware signed a one-day contract with Dallas. Exactly the same way he came into the league is the same way he walked out. A Dallas Cowboy!

Although he retired as a Cowboy, Ware found a home in Denver. In Colorado, he lived and served as a pass-rush consultant for the Broncos in 2018. His career has now come full circle with being inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame. The most prestigious honor of his career. Ware was humbled and honored to receive such an honor. He thanked his family, the Cowboys and Broncos organizations for supporting him throughout his career.
