Denver Broncos Draft Recap & More

With the Denver Broncos 2023 Draft now in the books, let's take a look at how the Broncos scored. Denver selected five players in the draft, trading up in the second round to acquire Oklahoma Sooners WR Marvin Mims including Arkansas LB Drew Sanders and Iowa CB Riley Moss in the third round.

The trade indicates that the franchise is confident that Moss will be an immediate impact to the team. Moss is a physical cornerback with superior ball skills, so the Broncos expect him to be a difference maker for them in the coming years.

Marvin Mims will provide the Broncos with depth at the receiver position including the return game. Mims has the size and speed to be an effective weapon on offense or special teams.

Mims has big upside which could make him a steal for the Broncos. He has the potential to be a productive player for many years to come. His addition to the team will be a great boost to the offense.

Defensively the Broncos are already sound but another experienced cornerback could be valuable on third and fourth downs. Riley Moss has exemplary ball skills and press coverage ability. He could be the perfect addition to the team's defense.

On day three of the NFL draft, Denver landed Boise State's top safety in JL Skinner in the sixth round. They also selected a solid center in round 7 from Oregon's Alex Forsyth. The Broncos have been looking to beef up their defense, and Skinner should be a very valuable addition. Forsyth is a powerful center who will provide the Broncos with a steady presence in the middle of their offensive line.

Denver entered this draft looking to select the most talented player available and they did just that. Making their voice heard on both sides of the ball. This gives Denver an advantage in their division and could prove to be a key factor in their success in the upcoming season. The rookies will be able to learn from the veterans on the team and develop their skills to become better players. The Broncos have already made a great start to the 2023-24 NFL season.

Overall, the franchise is committed to building a competitive roster for the future and it shows with the moves made in this draft. If I had to give the Broncos a draft letter grade it would be a "A".

Despite having limited draft capital, Sean Payton and George Paton managed to fill out the roster with some valuable pieces that should have an immediate impact. They also made a couple of wise trades, which further improved their draft position. This duo is off to a stellar start, not to mention staying down and picking up wide receiver Jerry Jeudy fifth-year option.

Judy's career in Denver hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows but he continues to put in the work, and has a lot to prove on the field. The Broncos hope this season will be different, with Jeudy finally showing the potential he had when they drafted him in the first round.

There are still some holes to fill on the roster. The next step will be the signing of free agents. With the right moves, the Broncos can become a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
