In my opinion, Rob Palinek has done a good job putting together an efficient roster. With key players who know how to play with LeBron James and Anthony Davis like center Dwight Howard. He played an important role in the Lakers run to finals in the 2020 season, With his dominance in the paint, securing rebounds, and defense on opponents big.
Their biggest signee this off-season was Russell Westbrook. Some say, Westbrook isn't a good fit, But I believe adding Westbrook has the Lakers as the favorite to come out of the Western Conference.

Westbrook has now averaged a triple-double the past three seasons. An amazing accomplishment. Putting him beside an aging LeBron James who is ready to take the backseat could advance James' career, and with a big man like Anthony Davis is a huge plus for Westbrook who has never played with a dominant big man like Davis in his whole career.
That pick-in roll is going to be dangerous.

The Lakers are full of future Hall of Famers. Carmelo Anthony, one of LeBron James' best friends. Who in fact has been hot this past season from 3 point range. Shooting 43% from beyond the arc. A well-needed addition.
The Lakers retained Talen Horton Tucker and Marc Gasol. Horton is a highly talented young player, who can create his own shot and will be a threat coming off the bench beside new additions Kendrick Nunn, Malik Monk, and Wayne Ellington. Monk and Nunn have never played in the postseason. Although they can be effective on offense and provide help defense off the bench. Ellington on the other hand possesses a finesse game with a nice stroke and a great ability to score in a variety of ways. Blazemore is a solid wing defender with passing and playmaking skills.
As it goes for Gasol, the farther time has slowed him down but he can still provide valuable minutes for the Lakers off the bench. The defense will be key to the Laker's success this season. Adding Trevor Ariza was a plus. Ariza is known for his defense and has championship experience. His presence will come in handy during postseason play.

Yes the Los Angeles Lakers are back to Championship form. As long as LeBron James and Anthony Davis can remain healthy. The Lakers should be back in the NBA finals this season.
